“Those who stand for nothing fall for anything.” – Alexander Hamilton
Tell us about yourself along with a fun fact!
I grew up in sunny Singapore and I am curious about how the mind works, how people behave in groups and game theory. One fun fact is that I wrote my college application essay about watching television.

Someone who inspires you and knowledge they have imparted:
Sheryl Sandberg: “So please ask yourself: What would I do if I weren’t afraid? And then go do it.” This empowered me to apply for opportunities I do not necessarily fully qualify for. It’s better to give my shot at success than pull back altogether because of fears which may not be important in the end.
Challenge you’ve faced and how you overcame it:
I joined a fledgling Model United Nations student group when I was in high school. The school was going to close us down and most people in the club did not commit to the team. I sat down with my executive committee to develop a detailed plan of how to reshape our mission, branding and programming. I met with the whole club to discuss how shared ambitions for the team. Through inspiring a shared vision and dedication, I transformed the club into one of the most popular school teams and we started raking in best team awards at international competitions. We made it our mission to help underprivileged children learn and gain from Model United Nations conferences and public speaking. I could have chosen to quit the club from the very beginning. But I remembered that I should not ask what others can do for me, but what I can do for others.
