“Ho creduto sempre in noi” from Perfect by Ed Sheeran feat. Andrea Bocelli.
Tell us about yourself along with a fun fact!
I’m in the major of Computer Engineering. At my university’s marching I play the glockenspiel (A percussion instruments which looks like a xylophone). I love sports, Star Wars and to be on fleek at campus. Some of my friends call me “an animal in extinction.”
What # would define your life journey?
#CercaETrova which means “Search and Find”. I use it as my motto. I like to say it to myself when I’m lost without direction.
Favorite website / app:
My top apps are Snapchat, Instagram, Netflix and Spotify. Lately I’ve been obsessed with photography and I like to follow professional photographers and their blogs. I frequently go to Github and HackerRank for projects and to improve my programming skills.
Someone who inspires you and knowledge they have imparted:
The person who inspires me the most is my father Arnaldo. He’s humble, kind, serious but funny when necessary and selfless. Eight years ago he discovered he had cancer but never gave up and fought for his health. Right now he’s cancer free and still part of Relay For Life’s committee at Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. He cares about our family’s necessities first than his. He taught me to follow my dreams no matter what. I can’t think of a better human than my father.
Challenge you’ve faced and how you overcame it:
Right now I’m facing the most difficult challenge I ever had. I called it an odyssey since it brought lots of changes. Since Hurricane María, college has been really difficult and stressful. I don’t have electricity at home so I have to stay at Mayaguez. Lots of exams, projects, assignments, labs… Not easy. But I developed patience and now I feel unstoppable. I will fight for what I want which is to pass my classes with excellent grades.
My ideal job involves programming and meteorology. Right now our world is facing major changes which I found interesting to work and fix. I would like to work in a place where my opinion is heard, no matter my gender. Where the word “teamwork” is our strategy and together improve the world.
What knowledge would you impart to women in order for them to REIGN their lives?
Never give up. Don’t wait for someone to speak for yourself. Just stand up and make your dreams come true. Develop patience and never lose hope.
